The idea

Most gifts for the person who has everything end up shelved. We wanted to make something that couldn’t — because it’s about them and no one else. Kinring maps every family birthday around a wheel of the year. Each person takes the colour of the day they were born, and the people who belong together are joined by a single line through the middle, where all your colours meet.

No two families ever land the same. That’s the whole point: it’s a portrait, not a chart.

How we make it

You answer a short, friendly set of questions — names and birthdays are all it needs, and the year is optional and never shown unless you want it. Then you choose a look: the crisp original colour wheel or one of two watercolour grounds, with 13 palettes and adjustable lines. It repaints live as you go.

When it’s right, we print it as 300 DPI giclée on museum-grade matte paper, at 30 × 30 cm or 50 × 50 cm, framed or bare. Printed and shipped on demand by our print partner.

Where we stand on your data

You don’t need an account, and your family stays on your device while you design. We built the whole thing to hold as little about you as possible — the print files are private, and names and birthdays are never attached to your order. You can read exactly how that works in our privacy policy.
